Posterior stroke: This type of stroke affects the back area of the brain, which includes the brain stem (controls breathing, blood pressure, and heart rhythm), the cerebellum (controls balance and coordination), and the occipital lobes (controls vision). Patients might experience any of the following ataxia, double vision, problems seeing to the left or right, or vertigo.
Two million brain cells die every minute during a stroke. Therefore, every second counts. If a stroke is not treated immediately, the death of brain cells will lead directly to loss of function—paralysis, loss of speech, loss of vision and even death. Our five Stroke Centers are located throughout Western New York to get you the level of care you need as quickly as possible.

Round the clock care provided a young female home health aide "APPLE". on her first day she appeared very caring and offered to adjust all my sister-in-laws medication. She stated that she was trained in medication, and gave us her phone number to keep us posted. On the third day she was texting myself and my wife all day while we were working. When i returned home i checked the medication as i always do, and noticed that 60 controlled pain medication was missing. When i called her to let her know she was terrified stating that her finger prints were all over every bottle but she didn't take them. When i called to complain they Round the Clock staff were rude and dismissing. I asked to speak to a supervisor they never returned my call. When i called back they just asked if i wanted someone else to come into my home, when i stated no, they became aggressively rude. I will never allow any home health agency into my home. They have ruined the experience for me. Unprofessional, and criminal rating for Round the clock.
Emergency measures. If you take warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven) or anti-platelet drugs such as clopidogrel (Plavix) to prevent blood clots, you may be given drugs or transfusions of blood products to counteract the blood thinners' effects. You may also be given drugs to lower pressure in your brain (intracranial pressure), lower your blood pressure, prevent vasospasm or prevent seizures.
Walmart offers a variety of different ways to shop for the personal care products you need. If you have a favorite brand, you can shop by brand and find a list of the products you need from the manufacturers you trust. If you're looking for a new scent of a type of lotion you already know you like, for example, this can be an efficient way to shop. You can also shop by category or item type if you're looking for something new and aren't yet sure exactly what you want to purchase. Browsing through all the offerings in a given category provides an online shopping experience that's similar to the traditional retail experience of walking down an aisle and surveying all the available items on the shelves. Plus, you can click onto an individual product and instantly get all the information you need to make an informed purchasing decision.
Finally, you should know about the end-of-life resources that are available to you in your home. Home hospice care is often covered by Medicare or other insurance; the cost is typically between $20-$50/hour. You'll have a team of workers that may include a care companion, social worker, nurse, and/or chaplain, and they'll help provide your loved one with comfort and pain management. You can find this type of support by searching hospice. You can also search in-home care and ask providers to tell you what hospice options they offer.
The best post rehabilitation center I have seen in the country is center for Neuro Recovery. My father went there completely enfeeble and in a wheelchair when he started and left walking after nine months of strengthening and functional movement exercises. I have never seen such a state of the art facility and knowledge-based staff. If this was going to happen to another family member again, I know I would go back to this amazing facility.

Armistead has been like my “right hand.” I can’t say enough positive things about them. I have found that they have always had someone available when we’ve needed their assistance. And the best part is, my aunt really enjoys them; she always looks forward to the staff coming in and they have become like “family” to her as well as to the rest of us. They have never let us down!

Removing the clot with a stent retriever. Doctors may use a catheter to maneuver a device into the blocked blood vessel in your brain and trap and remove the clot. This procedure is particularly beneficial for people with large clots that can't be completely dissolved with tPA, though this procedure is often performed in combination with intravenous tPA.
They are giving my son money from his ssa and he has nothing to show for it everytime he gets money he uses it for drugs. he goes looking for receipts and says hes spending it for his daughters but if he buys anything he usually sells it or loses it becuz he gets so wasted on drugs and he does not remember cuz hes mental supposedly but he sure remembers where to get his drugs and where to go til they burn him and take his money. Then he can go back to around the clock and tell them another lie and do it til hes dead. But that is not of their concern. Good luck
I go to an assigned clients house. I begin the day by making breakfast and starting laundry, after breakfast I wash the dishes. I usually sit with the client for awhile after that set up medicine and remind them to take it then ask what the plan for the day is. Go to grocery or run errands for the client if needed, I hang up laundry , vacuum, clean bathroom and take out trash. Every client has different needs. My days aren't the same all the time.
